A Global Returnable Asset Identifiers (GRAIs) a GS1 identification key used to uniquely identify returnable assets such as reusable crates, pallets, trays, barrels, beer kegs, transport equipment, or other reusable product carriers.
Returnable assets are packaging or transport carriers that cycle repeatedly through the supply chain. A GRAI enables companies to track these assets by type and, when serialized, by individual unit for maintenance, repair, and operational visibility.
